Health Kits 4 Haiti

Local churches are encouraged to put together Health Kits to UMCOR specifications. A Health Kit contains:
  • 1 hand towel (15"x25" up to 17"x25", No kitchen towels)
  • 1 washcolth
  • 1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
  • 1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
  • 1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
  • 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, No child-size brushes)
  • 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages
  • $1.00 to purchase toothpaste (toothpaste purchased by Sager Brown)
  • Include a second dollar for shipping

Those kits can be taken to a collection site at a United Methodist Church in your district or sent directly to:

    UMCOR West Office and Depot
    1479 South 700 West
    Salt Lake City UT 84104-1605

Do not attempt to ship directly to Haiti--let UMCOR do that. It should cost about $30 for 50 Health Kits to be shipped by UPS or FedEx to the Salt Lake City UMCOR Depot.

Thank you for helping those whose need is so great.

Prayers

Breaking News
Contrary to earlier reports, Rev. Sam Dixon did not survive the rescue efforts. Church workers learned Rev. Dixon died of injuries after being buried in the rubble of the collapsed Montana Hotel in Port au Prince, Haiti. Our prayers go out to his family and to UMCOR on the death of Rev. Dixon.

Please keep in prayer the United Methodist Volunteer Mission teams that were working in Haiti prior to the earthquake.

Please donate to UMCOR or to Advance Special number #418325 through your local United Methodist Church. UMCOR is working hard to provide aid to Haiti.
