Please Help the People of Tennessee Rebuild

So much rain fell in 2 days in Tennessee, that experts are calling
it a 1,000 year flood. The torrential rains - up to 15 inches -
displaced thousands of people from their homes. The picture to the right is the city of Nashville, Tennessee

Many of the displaced people were low income or immigrants. According to Rev. Jay Vorhees, Antioch United Methodist Church, Antioch has the "largest Kurdish population outside of Kurdistan." Many of these people lack the resources to rebuild and few people had flood insurance. The best estimates say it will be at least two years before the people of Tennessee fully recover from the flood of 2010.

You can help by:
1. Sending checks to the PNW Annual Conference Office, UMCOR Advance Special # 901670;
2. Giving to "Material Resources," UMCOR Advance #901440;
3. Volunteering by Contacting Ronda Cordill, PNW UM Volunteers in Mission Coordinator.
4. Credit Card giving to UMCOR, call (800) 554-8583.

UMCOR is relying on United Methodist support to help meet these emergency relief needs.
