Cleaning Buckets Needed

Spring and summer storms in the US South and Midwest have nearly depleted the UMCOR Relief Supply Network of cleaning buckets. The buckets contain items such as bleach, disinfectant soap, and laytex gloves that help those affected by floods or hurricanes tackle the overwhelming task of cleanup.

The UMCOR Relief Supply Network includes depots in six locations:

1. Eastbrook Mission Barn, New Castle, PA

2. MERCI, Glodsboro, NC

3. Mission Response Center, Terrell, NC

4. UMCOR Sager Brown, Baldwin, LA

5. UMCOR West, Salt Lake City, UT

6. Midwest Mission Distribution Center, Chatham, IL

Cleaning buckets and other relief supplies may be shipped to any depot in the UMCOR Relief Supply Network. For assembly and shipment information, check the UMCOR website, http://new.gbgm-umc.org/UMCOR. To support UMCOR's relief supply ministry, please give to Material REsources, UMCOR Advance #901440.

UMCOR Responds to Flash Floods

Afghanistan
The same torrential rains wreaking havoc on Pakistan are also causing destruction and displacement in neighboring Afghanistan. Over 106 people have died and thousands of homes were destroyed in 15 of Afghanistan's 34 provinces.

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), together with the International Rescue Committee provided tents to 800 affected families in the Mohammed Agha District of Logar province who lost their homes in the flooding, meeting 100 percent of the need for temporary shelter.

Your gift to Afghanistan Emergency, UMCOR Advance #602225 will greatly help.
To help with the Pakistan flooding, please give to International Disaster Response UMCOR Advance #982450 and earmark your check for Pakistan Emergency.
